Andy did a good job of fighting off Mahut in his first match since Wimby. Andy came out returning well and got 2 breaks in the first set. Mahut served great in the second and squeaked out the tiebreaker. Andy did a great job of not getting down and got an early break in the 3rd.

Andy is back and playing…

Andy is back and playing some tennis here in LA. Last week was a tough one in Cincinnati when Andy woke up on the day of his first match with a stiff neck. It actually got so bad that for the better part of 2 days he was not able to move his head at all. It was disappointing but Andy is once again feeling good and hitting the ball well out here in LA. This is a really nice tournament. The tournament is on the campus of UCLA and as usual the weather in Southern California is very good. We will finish up here and then head from the West Coast to the East Coast for the tournament in Washington DC next week. And now one thing for sure the US Open is only a couple of weeks away.

New York City

No matter what there is always a special energy you feel when you arrive at the USTA National Tennis Center. We are back in New York City for the last Grand Slam Tournament of the Year the US Open. It is a week of practice as Andy adjusts to the courts and the conditions here in New York. There is one thing for sure the National Tennis Center is a big place and next week there will be huge crowds everyday. Andy has had great success here and alot of that has to do with just the high energy you feel. We will spend the rest of this week practicing. Andy will play in the Arthur Ashe Kids day on Saturday and then is will be time to start the tournament next week.

Great start to the US Open!! From the first ball Andy did a great job of dictating what was going to happen. Santoro can be tough to play but Andys aggression took control and kept control of the match.
